BIOGRAPHY:
Brian joined Forizs & Dogali in 2009.  He has focused his practice on commercial litigation, insurance coverage and criminal law.  Prior to joining Forizs & Dogali, Brian worked as an associate attorney at a local law firm, concentrating on insurance defense.  Brian has handled various facets of litigation including depositions, motion practice, mediations, trials and appeals.  Brian has also previously been a prosecutor, handling over 300 cases at any given time for the State Attorney’s Office, and sitting first chair in over 30 jury trials, as well as numerous bench trials.

While working at the State Attorney’s office, Brian volunteered as a Teen Court Judge, as well as becoming an active member of the Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the Take Stock in Children programs.  Brian received the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Ronald McNair Magnet School. During law school, Brian was SBA President and Governor of the 8th Circuit for the Law Student Division of the ABA, and was responsible for planning programs for law students in six states.  He received the Silver Key through the ABA, as well as the Shkolnick Award and an award for Outstanding Service to the Law School from Creighton.

In addition to his leadership while in law school, Brian worked for the United States Air Force as a clerk for the JAG.  This exposed him to a variety of military legal issues.  He also clerked for the Public Defenders Office in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he began his criminal law experience.  Brian was able to pursue his interest in politics through a clerkship with the Nebraska Appleseed Center, focusing on various voting systems across the Nation to determine the potential for possible civil rights claims.
